Our Beliefs
Regarding God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible, We Believe:
In the infallible, verbal
inspiration of the whole
Bible and that the Bible is
the all-sufficient rule of faith
and practice. (Ps. 119:160;
II Tim. 3:16-17; II Pet.
1:19-21)
In the literal six-day creation
as described in Genesis.
(Gen. 1 & 2)
In the personal triune God:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
equal in divine perfection.
(Mt. 28:19)
That Satan is a fallen
angel, the archenemy of
God and man, the unholy
god of this world, and that
his destiny is the eternal
lake of fire. (Isa. 14:12-15;
Ezek. 28:11-19; Mt. 25:41; II
Cor. 4:4; Eph. 6:10-17; Rev.
20:10)
In the deity of Jesus Christ.
(John 1:1, 14; John 10:30; II
Cor. 5:19; Phil. 2:8)
In the virgin birth and
sinless humanity of Jesus
Christ. (Isa. 7:14; Mt.
1:18-31; II Cor. 5:21; I Pet.
2:22)
In the Holy Spirit as the
Divine Administrator for
Jesus Christ in His
churches. (Luke 24:49;
John 14:16-17; John
16:13-14; Acts 1:4, 5, 8;
Acts 2:1-4)
In the pre-millennial,
personal bodily return of
Christ, which will initiate the
resurrection of the
righteous to eternal
heaven. (Mt. 25:46; John
14:3; I Thess. 4:13-18; II
Thess. 2:8; Rev. 19; Rev.
20:4-6; Rev. 11-15; Rev.
21:8)
In the bodily resurrection
and ascension of Christ
and the future bodily
resurrection of His saints.
(Mt. 28:1-7; Acts 1:9-11; I
Cor. 15:42-58; I Thess.
4:13-18)
Regarding Salvation and the Christian Life, We Believe:
That man was created in
the image of God and lived
in innocence until he fell by
voluntary transgression
from his sinless state, the
result being that all
mankind are sinners. (Gen.
1:26-27; Gen. 3:6-24; Rom.
5:12, 19)
In a literal, burning hell that
awaits those who reject the
grace of God offered
through faith in Jesus
Christ. (Isa.
5:14-16; Mt. 7:21-23; Mt.
13:41-42; Mt. 25:41, 46;
Luke 16:19-31;  John 6:40)
That the suffering and
death of Jesus Christ was
substitutionary for all
mankind and is efficacious
only to those who believe.
(Isa. 53:6; Heb. 2:9; I Pet.
2:24; I Pet. 3:18; II Pet. 3:9; I
John 2:2)
That love for one another
as Jesus loves the believer
manifests our discipleship,
proves our love for God,
and symbolizes our
authority as a New
Testament church. (Mt.
22:35-40; Luke 3:22; John
13:34-35; John 15:12;
II Cor. 13:14; I John 4:7-21;
I John 5:1-3, 7)
That God deals with
believers as His children,
that He chastises the
disobedient, and that He
rewards the obedient. (Mt.
16:27; Mt. 25:14-23; John
1:12; Heb. 12:5-11; II John
8; Rev. 22:12)
That all who trust Jesus
Christ for salvation are
eternally secure in Him and
shall not perish. (John
3:36; John 5:24, John
19:27-30; Rom. 8:35-39; I
Pet. 1:5)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
                                                                                     Galatians 5:1
Regarding the Church, We Believe:
That the church was
established during Christ's
ministry on earth and that it
is a local, visible assembly
of scripturally baptized
believers, established to
carry out the Great
Commission. (Mt. 4: 18-22;
Mt. 16:18; Mt. 28:19-20;
Mark 1:14-20; John
1:35-51; Eph. 3:21)
That the first day of the
week is the Lord's day and
is to be kept separate for
worship and for service to
the Lord first, and for the
ministering to the needs of
our fellow man second.
(Isa. 56:2-8; Isa. 58:13-14;
Acts 20:7; Rev. 1:10)
In obedience to the Biblical
commands to keep
ourselves unspotted from
the world, and to separate
ourselves and our
membership unto God and
from worldliness, idolatry,
and ecclesiastical
apostasy. (Rom. 16:17; II
Cor. 6:14-7:1; I Thess.
1:9-10; I Tim. 6:3-5; II John
9-11)
That it is the duty and
privilege of the individual
member of the church to
support and sustain the
ministries and expenses of
their church by scriptural
giving. (Deut. 15:7; Mal.
3:10;  Mt. 10:42; I Cor. 4:2; I
Cor. 16:1-2; II Cor. 9:6-8)
In keeping ourselves and
our membership free from
any society, organization,
fraternity, or lodge that is
contrary to the doctrines,
gospel, faith, and practices
held by this church. (Gal.
1:6-9; Eph. 5:1-11; Col. 3:5;
James 1:27; I John 5:21)
That all ministries,
fellowships, and
committees are, and
properly should be,
servants of and under
control of the churches. (Mt.
20:25-28)
That there are two pictorial
ordinances in the Lord's
church: baptism by
immersion after salvation
and the Lord's Supper, a
memorial restricted to
members of the church
observing the ordinance.
(Acts 8:12, 38; Acts 10:48;
Rom. 6:4; I Cor. 5:11-13; I
Cor. 11: 1, 2, 17-20, 26)
That there are two divinely
appointed offices in the
church, pastors and
deacons, to be filled by
men whose qualifications
are set forth in Titus and I
Timothy. (I Tim. 3; Titus
1:5-9)
That the depraved sinner is
saved wholly by grace
through faith in Jesus
Christ, and that the
requisites to regeneration
are repentance toward God
and faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ. (Luke 13:3-5; John
3:6; John 16-18; Acts 20:21;
Rom. 6:23; Rom. 8:9-11; I
Cor. 6:19-20; Eph. 2:8-9;
Eph. 4:30; Titus 3:5)
In freedom of worship
without interference from
the government. We affirm
our belief in civil obedience,
unless the laws and
regulations of civil
government run contrary to
the Holy Scriptures. (Acts
5:29; Rom. 13:1-7; I
Peter 2:13-15)
